Most people assume successful women are immune to abusive relationships.
The opposite is often true.
For years, I led global teams, managed high-pressure events, solved complex problems, and made decisions affecting thousands of people.
Then I’d go home…
…and question whether I was overreacting after being manipulated.
That’s the contradiction many high-achieving women live every day.
At work we’re decisive.
At home we second-guess ourselves.
Not because we’re weak.
Because emotional abuse changes the way your brain processes reality.
Many women become even more successful professionally because work becomes the only place where life feels predictable.
The office becomes a refuge.
Achievement becomes survival.
The promotions continue.
The awards come.
Everyone says,
“You’re so strong.”
They never see the panic attacks in the parking lot.
Or the tears before walking through the front door.
Or the exhaustion of managing two completely different lives.
Healing means allowing those two versions of yourself to become one again.
Strong at work.
Strong at home.
Most importantly…
Strong enough to believe you deserve peace.
